What is our theme?
ME! (Christ's Version)
3 Nephi 5:13
What is the purpose of this Girls Camp?
To develop and strengthen Christlike attributes so we can be more converted disciples. As we strive to follow His example we can become the versions of ourselves that He knows we can and needs us to be.
When is Camp?
June 25th-28th
Check-in time 9 am, June 25th at the Stake Center. Bring a sack lunch for Tuesday with you. The first provided meal will be dinner Tuesday evening.
You’ll return home from camp the morning of Friday, June 28th.
Where is Camp?
Valley View Girls Camp. There are driving directions on the location tab.
What are the camp rules?
The basic rules are to love God, yourself and love others.
Abide by FSY guidelines.
Quiet time is from 10pm to 7am. (The camp has close neighbors. We need to respect their need for a good night’s sleep.)
Keep a good attitude.
Do as asked by the leaders.
Girl's Camp is fun! So let's have the best time ever!
What are we going to do at camp?
Our big activities will be a ropes course, swimming, shooting, rock climbing, crafting, learning about our Savior and eating delicious food. Everything tastes better when you're camping, am I right? But we'll also be having some dope (that word is coming back, tell your friends) activities that the YCL's are planning and plenty of ward time! You're welcome
What are we going to eat?
Amazing food! You will not go hungry physically or spiritually
What kind of sleeping accommodations will there be?
Stake YW leaders with be in the dusty, rat infested A-Frame (don't be jealous)
Youth and ward leaders will be sleeping with their wards in luxurious tents out in the beautiful mountain air
What if I have food allergies?
The cooking staff will accommodate those with food allergies—as long as they know.
Be sure you know what you can and cannot eat. If you have questions about what something is or contains, ask the cooking staff before you eat it.
What should I bring?
See packing list here
Can I bring my cell phone or tablet?
Yes, but be aware that there is little-to-no cell coverage at camp, and you won’t be able to recharge electronic devices.
Can I bring electronic games?
Please don’t.
Are there showers available at camp?
Yes, but you'll need to bring your own toiletries and towels, or don't, you're camping, layer up those armpits with deodorant and sit by the camp fire, it'll cover any extra smell. Greasy hair looks great in braids. Pro tip
What if I have questions that aren’t answered here?
Please have one of your parents or Ward Youth Leaders contact Emily Richards (801-510-5968) or Deanna Gardner (801-390-2525). If they text us, please ask them to include their name and Ward in the initial text.
